Air Force SBIR/STTR Privacy and Security Policy

Information Collected and Stored Automatically

If you visit a site on the Air Force SBIR/STTR web site to read or download information, we collect and store the following information about your visit. (This information does not identify you personally.)

  • The name of the Internet domain (for example, "xcompany.com" if you use a private Internet access account, or "yourschool.edu" if you are connecting from a university's domain) and the IP address (a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you are using the Internet) from which you access our web site;
  • The type of browser and operating system used to access our web site;
  • The date and time you access our web site;
  • The Internet address of the web site from which you linked directly to our web site; and
  • The pages you visit and the information you request.

This information is collected for statistical analysis and technical improvements to the web site. This computer uses software programs to create summary statistics, which may be used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas. In certain circumstances, however, additional steps made be made to identify you based on this information and we may share this information, including your identity, with other government agencies.

Information Collected from E-mails and Web Forms

If you choose to provide personal information by sending an e-mail or submitting an on-line form found on the Air Force SBIR/STTR web site, please note that the material you submit may be seen by various people. We use submitted information to respond to your message and to help us provide you with information that you request. The information you provide is not given to any private organizations or private persons without your prior permission. We do not collect or use information for commercial marketing.

We may share information you give us with other government personnel, contractors acting on the sponsoring agencies’ behalf, or another government agency if your inquiry relates to that agency. Password Security

Some areas of the Air Force SBIR/STTR web site are limited to authorized users with passwords. Complete and accurate information is necessary to gain access to restricted sites/areas. Cookies

"Cookies" are small bits of text that are either used for the duration of a session ("session cookies"), or saved on a user's hard drive in order to identify that user, or information about that user, the next time the user logs on to a web site ("persistent cookies"). The Air Force SBIR/STTR web site does not use persistent cookies. However, one or more areas of the site may use session cookies to provide streamlined navigation and for statistical analysis.
