Generating a Success Story
A candidate SBIR/STTR success story may be self-initiated by the small business, provided directly by the Air Force Technical Point of Contact (TPOC), submitted by the respective SBIR/STTR Program Manager, or initiated by another Air Force or Department of Defense office (e.g., system program office). After the story has been reviewed, it may be posted to the Air Force SBIR/STTR web site and possibly used in selected presentations, brochures, videos, program handouts, and briefings. These stories also make for excellent company marketing material.

Success Story Categories and Criteria
Innovation Story
The criteria include projects where the SBIR/STTR-developed technology became part of, or was continued by, a non-SBIR/STTR-funded (core) research project.
Transition Story
The criteria include SBIR/STTR technology that has transitioned into an Air Force system or subsystem, or technology originally developed through an Air Force SBIR/STTR project that has transitioned into another Department of Defense agency system or subsystem and/or has demonstrated other commercial success.
How to Submit a candidate Story
First, select the most appropriate story criteria. Then, review examples of success stories already posted in the Publications section to get a good understanding of how these stories are written. Lastly, use the electronic form to submit your draft candidate story.
